Hollywood sign in the sunset light with a dramatic sky – digital painting made from a photo where I made some small edits and I added painting texture. The Hollywood Sign is an American landmark and cultural icon overlooking Hollywood, and situated on Mount Lee in Santa Monica Mountains. The sign was erected in 1923 and its purpose was to advertise the name of a new housing development in the hills above the Hollywood district of Los Angeles. It was intended only to last a year and a half, but after the rise of American cinema in Los Angeles during the Golden Age of Hollywood, the sign became an internationally recognized symbol and was left there.
